Bitch Falcon @ Sweeneys 29/5/15

Up-and-comers Bitch Falcon rock a late set at Sweeney’s Bar on Dame Street, topping a night featuring Not Monsters and Race The Flux, before heading to KFest this weekend.

It was the first time I’ve seen this straight up rock band, fronted by Lizzie Fitzpatrick on guitar and vocals, Naomi Macleod rocking bass with Nigel Kenny on drums, and holy moly they melted my face off. It’s been a long time since I’ve witnessed hard rock/grunge in a pure and very clean way and it was refreshing to say the least. With a sound that lies somewhere between the chorus of Nirvana’s “Heart Shaped Box”, Juliette and the Licks and The Runaways, it’s really hard to compare this trio to anything that’s being played today. If you haven’t checked them out yet, make sure to catch them on the festival circuit this summer! They’re bringing back grunge with a vengeance, yet making it their own (Neo-grunge anyone?)
