New ‘City and Colour’ album to be released

Dallas Green, also known under the banner of City and Colour, is set to release a new album “If I Should Go Before You” on Dine Alone Records this October, before taking it on tour early next year.

With a sneak preview of what’s in store with single “Woman“, we’re presented with a new sound from the former blues/folk/post-hardcore vocalist accompanied by synth crescendos, verby guitars and slightly more dreamy undertones. The result is a 9 minute long epic, on the cusp between ultimate live performance and the creme-de-la-studio production.

Produced as a group by Green and his trusted band in renowned Blackbird Studios Nashville, Tennessee, the collaborative effort is evident yet the fact that he shook things up a bit doesn’t come as a huge surprise from an artist as well seasoned as Dallas Green. The former Alexisonfire vocalist has moved from post-hardcore to acoustic blues with a side project of folksy ballads in collaboration with Alecia Moore (aka P!nk) just in a few short years, proving that he has the versatile talent to make his mark on the music scene.

If “Woman” is anything to go by, If I Should Go Before You is set to be a very relevant alternative rock album that could slot itself nicely somewhere in between Hozier and Jack Garrett yet doesn’t need to be categorised to be enjoyed. It will be a treat to hear this work in the intimate yet acoustically strong space of the Olympia Theatre, Dublin next February 22nd – tickets on sale from Friday July 31st from 9am.
