Top 15 of 2015: No 3: Neck Deep ‘Life’s Not Out To Get You’

Neck Deep released Life’s Not Out To Get You on the 14th of August via Hopeless Records. It definitely lives up to Neck Deep’s former glories. In a way they’ve gotten even better. The lyrics are more powerful, and the music is more intricate, interesting, and catchy.

‘Can’t Kick Up The Roots’ was the first song on the album they released, and it was a good choice for a first; catchy, punchy, and safely pop punk.  ‘Gold Steps’ is the stand out of the album, accompanied by a video of the band going down a house estate, playing on a skate ramp on top of a trailer, being followed by their fans. It’s is a lovely homage to the community nature of pop punk, and it was made by Kyle Thrash (another one of our favourite video makers).
