Irish short “Stutterer” takes Oscar

A huge congrats to Benjamin Cleary’s short Stutterer, which took home the price for Best Short Film (Live Action) at this year’s 88th Oscars ceremony.

A beautifully shot short about a young man with a crippling speech impediment, starring Matthew Needham, was the only Irish nomination to come home with a golden statue, despite the record number of nominations this year.

Brie Larson also won Best Actress for Irish made and directed (Lenny Abrahamson) film Room, adapted from the Irish novel by Emma Donoghue (though I thought Jacob Tremblay really stole the show – those two are so cute!)

You can watch Stutterer through RTE Player for a limited – check it out here!

Congratulations to all the winners, and nominees, in this year’s Academy Awards – stay tuned for our full run down soon!
