For the day that’s in it, here’s some of my favourite bands from our little island! Lá Fhéile Pádraig!
Starters are a five piece pop punk band from Dublin. Here’s one of their older songs from a few years ago. (you can check out their newer stuff here). They’re hitting up Fibbers on the 5th of May.
An alt rock/pop punk band from Bray, this is Watch The Sky’s ‘All I Know’. They’re currently working hard on some new songs. They’re also playing that gig in Fibbers May 5th with Starters.
I love this cover of Regina Spektor’s ‘You’ve Got Time’ they did for Record Store Gay to raise money for Marriage Equality. You can listen to their other stuff here. And yep, they are also playing that gig in Fibbers on the 5th of May!
‘Daisy’ is taken from their debut album A Different Space Of Mind. They’re playing Tenterhooks on the 2nd of April with a bunch of other cool bands.
Otherkin are a pop grunge band from Dublin, and this is their latest video ‘I Was Born’. They’re playing Whelans on the 8th of April with Fangclub and Wolff.
This song is from their debut album Life Is Perfect and the video premiered over on Rock Sound in February.
Neon Atlas hail from Cork and ‘I Never Felt So Good’ is from their album Graffiti Reality. You should also check out their track ‘Somewhere’ which they released in aid of Pieta House.
The Academic are an indie rock band from good ol Mullingar. They’re playing Live at the Marquee in Cork in June. You should also check out their cover of Biebers ‘Love Yourself’.
This is their debut music video, and the song is from EP1 which is out now. They have some new music on the way soon!
