Starters released their new album A Picture Fading, and announced that their gig on the 16th of September in Fibbers would be their last ever show. Over Being Under are reuniting for the occasion and Hollow Truth, January, and Versive are also supporting.
A Picture Fading is 13 tracks of lamenting emo rock drenched in anxiety, loss, and hope. It’s atmospheric and evocative, and you feel every second of it. It’s another perfect example of the strength of our music scene here in Ireland.
We caught up with Ian Kelly to talk about the new record, their last show, and what’s planned for the future:
New Yorkers Augustines recently announced their impending split and have added Irish dates to their farewell tour. They’re hitting up the Empire Music Hall in Belfast on the 28th of October, and The Button Factory in Dublin on the 29th. They released the following letter addressed to their fans:
Taking Back Sunday are playing Limelight in Belfast on the 11th of February and Vicar Street in Dublin on the 12th, with support from Frank Iero And The Patience. Tickets on sale at 9am this Friday.
Taking Back Sunday also released a lyric video for their track ‘Death Wolf’, which is taken from their new album Tidal Wave which is out Friday the 16th of September via Hopeless Records.
Frank Iero And The Patience are releasing their new album on October 28th.
WSTR have announced that their debut album Red, Green or Inbetween will be out on January 20th via No Sleep Records. They’ve released the first song off said album ‘Lonely Smiles’ with a video made by Life Is Art Visuals and starring WSTR’s fans holding up notes of the things that make them smile. It’s adorable.
WSTR are supporting ROAM on their Irish dates, they’re hitting up Fibbers on Nov 27th, Roisin Dubh on Nov 28th, and Voodoo on Nov 29th.
Cage The Elephant have announced a show at The Academy on the 16th of January. Tickets are €24 and are on sale now. The band recently released their new single ‘Trouble’ from their fourth studio album Tell Me I’m Pretty.

Wyvern Lingo are headlining a show at The Button Factory on the 3rd of December. Tickets are €17.50 including booking fee and are on sale now.
They’re also doing a support run in the UK and Ireland with James Vincent McMorrow in October as well as a few shows around Ireland in November and December, see full dates below:

Save Face- Backseat
Save Face have released a lyric video for ‘Backseat’ which is taken from their album Folly which was released back in July via Take This To Heart Records.
Trophy Eyes- Heaven Sent
‘Heaven Sent’ is from Trophy Eyes upcoming album Chemical Miracle which is out on October 14th and available for pre-order now.
New Language- Wake Up
LA rock act New Language have released a new music video for ‘Wake Up’, directed by Josh Beck with animation from James Esposito.
Waterparks- Stupid For You
Waterparks announced their new album this week, it’s called Double Dare and will be released on November 4th. It’s available for pre-order now, and they’ve released the first single from it ‘Stupid For You’.
Against The Current ft. Tyler Carter- Cold Water (Major Lazer cover)
Against The Current and Tyler Carter from Issues recorded a cover of Major Lazer’s ‘Cold Water’, alongside an adorable video shot by Elliot Ingham and Joe Brady. Against The Current are hitting up The Academy on the 27th of September.
